From September 26, 2024, to January 19, 2025, Villa Bardini, perched atop its picturesque gardens overlooking Florence, presents OltreCittà: Utopias and Realities. From Le Corbusier to De Chirico, a unique exhibition exploring the evolution of urban spaces through the eyes of some of the most iconic artists and visionaries of the 20th and 21st centuries.

This multidisciplinary exhibition unites painting, photography, architecture, music, and literature to examine the city as both a utopia and a living reality. Divided into 12 thought-provoking sections, the exhibition features 100 works by groundbreaking artists such as Umberto Boccioni, Giorgio de Chirico, Alberto Burri, Le Corbusier, Sol LeWitt, Michelangelo Pistoletto, and Gerhard Richter.

In addition to stunning visuals, the exhibition incorporates musical compositions by renowned figures like Luciano Berio and John Cage, creating an immersive auditory experience that evokes the pulse of urban life. Literary excerpts woven throughout the exhibition provide additional context, enriching the visitor’s understanding of the complex dynamics of cityscapes.
